Another small circular walk, making the most of the good weather.
Starting at Chennell hall following the river Alwin upstream turning right and climbing up onto the top of the Dodd (knackering but the views are really good) walking along the edge of the hill onto Puncherton hill from there walking along a old quad bike track to Ravens Crag.
Downhill from there & over the Allerhope Burn into Kidlandlee and following the cart track to the entrance of the woods .turning right up hill on a path to Clennellstreet from there downhill towards Alwinton turning left to cross over the bridge back to Chennell hall.
I think this walks about 5 ½ miles and a fair bit of the route is not on any recognised footpaths.
One thing that I like about this walk is you get the good views both high & low and get to see the valley from both sides.
Again I will try to post a link with some photos & map, enjoy
…………….Mick
